Requests For Proposals the development of a Traffic Circulation Plan for the Calexico West Port of Entry

News | February 2, 2018

The Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) has just released a Request for Proposal (RFP) in partnership with the Imperial County Transportation Commission (ICTC) and Caltrans for a traffic circulation plan for the Calexico West Port of Entry – Access for Opening Day and Beyond.  The project will develop a Traffic Circulation Plan (TCP) to determine the best access(es) to the newly expanded Calexico West POE. The TCP will address the current roadways, those under construction, and analyze which routes will provide for direct, less congested, safe, and timely POE crossings. The TCP will include strategies for intelligent transportation systems (ITS) elements such as radio‐frequency identification (RFID) technologies, coordinated signals, changeable message signs (permanent & movable), in addition to other typical traffic control ITS strategies. Transportation modes will include autos, commercial vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians in this analysis.
